As light fades I marvel
At the day so fleeting
the sun finished beating
on this asphalt skin
goes elsewhere for the evening
to warm through other windows
As I sit in the tungsten palor
of this electric life, I wonder
what happened to the days of my youth
that lasted each a lifetime
a lifetime ago
Day 26 Prompt: “The curtal sonnet is shorter than the normal, fourteen line sonnet. Instead it has a first stanza of six lines, followed by a second stanza of four, and then closes with a half-line.”
