Nocturne

There is a wolf over there in the park
Just there beside the park bench
Or is it my imagination?
There is a dark pool of shadows behind the condos opening onto this strip of green along the river
And there, in that darker shadow, behind the pine trees
near the winter-bare crabapples
There is a wolf sitting beside the park bench
A hunched shape inky black against the rest of the blackness
Yellow pupils catch the light and reflect
I stand here in this pool of electric day thrown by the park lamp, eyes playing along the limit of the light where it falls off into dim night
And I look at him
And he looks back at me
And we nod to each other
‘Good Evening’

Day 5? Ok pure confusion, this is a mix of prompt 4 “a poem with a word or idea or line that it isn’t expressing directly” and walking in the park thinking ‘Nocturne’. What does it all mean? I have no idea
